Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II - a Lifetime of Service and Inspiration

It was with immense sadness that we learned the news yesterday evening of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Over the years, her constant presence, gentle humour and seemingly effortless grace brought comfort and joy to many, and closer to home, residents who had the good fortune to receive a royal card, never failed to delight in Her Majesty’s good wishes.
For all of us, Her Majesty’s dedication to the nation over seven decades has been a shining and unmatched example of tireless and devoted service that will prove a source of inspiration for as many years to come.
So many aspects of her character are worthy of celebration and praise, but to me personally, there are two things that particularly stood out – her compassion towards the many people she encountered and her extraordinary humanity.
For us too, there is real inspiration in the way she remained relevant and contemporary throughout her long life and I hope this will provide a reminder to society of the important contribution that those in the later stages of life continue to make.
For today though, our thoughts are with all those who mourn her passing, and in particular, her family and our residents. We wish them comfort through the coming period, and we know she will live on in the memories and hearts of many.
I am sure our colleagues will continue to support one another and our customers, as we live through this historic moment.
At the same time, let’s also take the opportunity to reflect on her wonderful life and celebrate her extraordinary contribution to our wonderful country, something for which we should all be extremely grateful.
