Belong operates a bespoke day care service at all village locations to enable people to access Belong support on a day basis.
Known as Experience Days, our day care service enables people to join in the village events and activities programme in a supported way, enjoy lunch in the Bistro and get to know their local village team. Importantly, it also provides a relatively easy way to get a taste of life in a Belong village while offering some respite to usual carers.
Typically running from 10am to 4pm, Experience Days give usual carers the chance to take a break, confident in the knowledge that their loved one is happy and content.
The small group sizes mean we can design Experience Day activities around the interests of our customers and this in turn helps to promote wellbeing throughout the day.
As part of the Belong community, Experience Day customers have priority if a stay in the village is required, subject to availability.
Experience Days offer so much more than conventional day care. They are designed to offer our customers the opportunity to try something new or rediscover past interests. Examples of activities include pottery, art, attending musical performances and workshops, coffee mornings, intergenerational stay-and-play sessions, choir singing and much more.
The social nature of the days means that they are often eagerly anticipated, with customers reporting that joining in Experience Days has given them a new lease of life.
